It's a horrible thing. We got to speak out and let others know. I have spoken out about child abuse myself. I know it’s wrong but the people that do it obviously don't understand how much it hurts. I have had my whole childhood token away from me and I will never get that back. I was sexually abused for three years at the age of eight by my own brother and his friends and my mother knew the entire time. I am now seventeen and sure hope some of these statistics aren’t me. My husband is a victim of child abuse and he also has a psychological disorder, which makes it much harder for him to cope with the things that happened to him as a child. He talks to me about it all the time, because talking helps him heal, and after reading all of these facts, some of the things that he does/says make a whole lot more sense. It's not because he wants to do these things, but him being abused led him to do these things, and he is not happy about them. Please, if you know someone who is being abused or someone who is abusing others, please, please, please report it, it could save their life. Reading these statistics made me cry.
